Haunted House Slam & Scarecrow Challenge

We are just over 2 weeks away from the start of the Haunted House Slam & Scarecrow Challenge, and we're excited!  We have a great tournament, with some fantastic teams and we're looking forward to great competition.  

We'll be putting the schedule together soon, just pending some final book keeping and planning before we go live.  We'll post when the schedule is live and active for your review and planning. 

The first big reminder:  THE SCARECROW CHALLENGE.  Reminder to bring your best decorated Scarecrow.  Make sure to stop by the tournament headquarters for a photo op and judging.  The winner will be announced Sunday morning, so make sure to stop by sometime Saturday for your photo so we'll have everybody for our Saturday night judging.  

Additionally, the Scarecrows are important for Sunday elimination play.  The winning team will collect the scarecrow of the losing team during the hand-shake line.  The winning teams in each round put all scarecrows on the line during the next round.  Again, the winning team of the second and subsequent rounds will collect all scarecrows from the losing team.  

After the championship, the winning team will have collected all scarecrows from their age division. And take a cool photo for the final. 


Prior to your first game, we'll need the following:

  • Roster. This can be any roster form and must include all players playing for you during this weekend.  
  • Insurance. We will accept any valid insurance with your team name listed.
  • USA Sanctioning

You can submit your documents in one of 2 ways                                                               (please only provide copies - keep the originals for your future use)

    1. Email your documents to tournaments@nwoladyirish.com
    2. Turn in your documents to the tournament HQ prior to your first game.

During the tournament, make sure to text your scores to 419.540.2136 following each game. This will help us keep the standings updated and will aid in getting the brackets posted quickly. 

Reminder, we'll follow USA rules for this tournament.

As a reminder, tournament shirt pre-order is available NOW.  The deadline for tournament shirt orders is Sunday, Sept 29th, at 11:59PM.  We will have a few limited shirts available at the tournament, so ordering in advance is the best option for your teams.

THERE IS A MINIMUM OF A 3 HOUR DELAY TODAY.  PLEASE NOTIFY YOUR FAMILIES Water standing in the outfield.  Infields have standing water and mushy. Limited drying opportunities at this point. At this point, we have a minimum of a 3 hour delay.  We'll update you again at 8:30.  Coaches,  I'm sorry TourneyMachine seemed to list standings incorrectly.  I have reviewed based on the scores that were reported and the bracket schedule is now (should be) final.  Please review.  If you see an error please let me know.  If a score was reported incorrectly, please let me know.   Please remember that the last game for Lady Irish Baldwin did NOT count in standings. Haunted House Slam - Weather & Delay Update

8:30 AM Update                                                Sadly, I have just been informed by the park that the field conditions are NOT PLAYABLE.  Unfortunately, with limited drying opportunities (no sun, low wind, etc...) the fields will not dry in a timely manner.  We just can't push back much past 12:00 because then we run into reduced daylight hours.  It is with great sadness that we have to tell you that  bracket games for today have been cancelled.  If you've played at Rolf Park before, you know that the staff here does an amazing job prepping the fields and dealing with wet conditions.  Although this is sad news, I do trust their evaluation and determination as they consider playing conditions and the safety of our athletes.   This also marks the final tournament for the Rolf Park manager, Brian Zattau.  If you see him out and about as he rides off into glorious retirement, make sure you thank him for everything he has done for almost a decade, to facilitate great p
